The Museum of Yo-Yo History is a labor of love, and we would not be able to stay up-to-date with exhibits without the support of our sponsors and curators. Big thanks go to One Drop Design and Duncan for supplying us with their latest models, YoYoExpert for their help and support, and to Cody Orr, TotalArtist and YoYoBrothers™ for allowing us to use their collections!

The Slick is a wooden yo-yo made in China and distributed by Papa's Toys Co. Ltd. based out of Canada. Papa's Toys is the current holder of the registered trademark "Yo-Yo" in Canada. The company, however, has no product development and, therefore, never releases any new yo-yo designs. They also do not promote yo-yoing in Canada through the sponsorship of players, teams, contests, or training.

For many decades, nearly all wooden yo-yos sold in Canada were made by Elfverson of Sweden. Today, that is unfortunately longer the case. These new Chinese-made versions are of poor quality in comparison. The string gap on this model measures five millimeters which makes the yo-yo completely unusable for any tricks. The Slick is among the worst mass produced wooden yo-yos in the toy marketplace today (2023).

In the end, the only thing "slick" about this yo-yo is its packaging.

Original retail price: $10 US.
